Rampachodavaram, May 15: Acting tough against negligence in MGNREGS implementation, Polavaram District Collector K. Dinesh Kumar ordered the suspension of 2 APOs, 4 Technical Assistants/Barefoot Technicians, and 4 Field Assistants for poor performance in providing work to tribal labourers and failing to achieve targets under the Jaladhara–Jalaharathi programme.
According to DWAMA PD Maheswara Rao, the suspended officials failed to meet workday targets in several mandals. Officials from Vara Ramachandrapuram and Rampachodavaram recorded only 15-16 percent progress against the assigned targets. Staff from Kunavaram, Chintoor and Addateegala mandals were also suspended for poor field-level performance.
The Collector warned that strict action would continue against officials showing negligence in implementing employment guarantee schemes in tribal areas.
