Vizianagaram, March 6: District Collector S. Ramsunder Reddy urged farmers to take up horticulture crops that offer higher profits. During his visit to Bhogapuram mandal on Friday, he inspected horticulture crops being cultivated by farmers in Koyyapeta village.
The Collector interacted with farmers in the fields and enquired about their issues, cultivation methods, and market facilities. He advised farmers to shift from paddy to high-income horticulture crops such as vegetables, leafy greens, fruits, and flowers to ensure continuous income.
He assured that the district administration would extend full support, including market facilities and technical guidance, to farmers who opt for horticulture cultivation. He also suggested adopting modern farming methods to achieve higher yields. Officials from the horticulture and agriculture departments accompanied him during the visit.
