Statewide “Right for Teaching” Rally at District Headquarters on July 14
Gudem Kotha Veedhi,Pen Power,July 12: The leaders of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Organisations (FAPTO) have urged the State Government to immediately fulfill the promises made to teachers during the election campaign. They called upon teachers across the district to participate in large numbers in the statewide “Right for Teaching” protest to be held at all District Collectorates on July 14.
Addressing the media, the FAPTO leaders demanded the immediate announcement of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), sanction of a 30 percent Interim Relief (IR), abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). They also sought the release of five pending Dearness Allowances (DAs), payment of all pending arrears, and resolution of issues concerning contract teachers.
The leaders stated that a united struggle is the only way to secure justice for teachers and appealed to all teachers in the district to make the July 14 protest a grand success.The appeal was made by FAPTO leaders Kitlalangi Peddabbayi, Losela Ramakrishna, P. Satish, R.Venkateswarlu,Murla Venkataramana, Molla Devudu, Vinod Kumar, Vasanth, Dhara Babu Kaleswara Rao, M.V. Dora, Balaraju, and other representatives of the federation.
